Why

Why blogging?

Because I am inspired. To begin with.

Recently I was lucky to have a long conversation with a person whom I consider to be my role model. What does make someone a role model? His visions are broad, his work is vital and related to what I want to be doing, both his answers and questions are direct, concise and honest, his mind seems to be prejudice free. Plus he has experience both in academia and entrepreneurship - the two worlds where I can envision my future. Not to speak of his kind personality, open mind and appreciation of family life.

I do not intend to repeat someone's life path, but isn't it a good sign, that someone has already gone down the road, that you are only planning to take?

Periphrasing his words, by the end of a PhD, what one is left with, is, in the best case, couple of published papers. And that is all you are. Doesn't it sound depressing?

Indeed, why not leave some digital traces of the learning journey and exciting life overall?

Because it may be beneficial on one hand, and there is nothing to lose on the other hand.

Because this is the type of blog I would adore to be following myself:
- written not by a computer scientist, not a professional programmer, but someone discovering the wonders and effectiveness of coding, making their way through algorithms and programming languages, reading papers on statistics, data science, machine learning and trying to understand the difference between the last tree;
- written not by an acrobat, but someone, who is passionate about training with friends, going to conventions, workshops as well organizing them;
- written by someone, who, after all successes and failures, is still brave enough to dream and try anew.

Most probable topics of the posts in this blog are statistics, machine learning, PhD life, traveling, yoga, acrobatics, people I meet and places I visit.
